Our organisation is determined to empower women of all ages by providing a space to find support, encouragement and a safety net to seek help on various issues.
We offer free life coaching and teachings through various mediums on line and in-person depending on the circumstances. We focuses on uplifting women and changing their situation and we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The COVID-19 pandemic had brought about a significant economic downturn, and we have responded by expanding our activities to include providing food handouts to homeless communities. We are passionate about tackling the issue of period poverty and firmly believe that every girl has the right to attend school and live with dignity.
That is why we have decided to provide reusable sanitary pads to underprivileged girls with the greatest need in rural and peri-urban communities. We have been working tirelessly to test various designs of reusable pads that are affordable to manufacture, user-friendly, and environmentally friendly.
Our goal is to distribute them to the most impoverished provinces in South Africa, and we are confident that our efforts will significantly impact countless girls’ lives.
By providing this basic necessity, we can help prevent unscrupulous men from exploiting young girls in exchange for basic needs and ultimately empower women to lift themselves out of poverty.
Mission
Changing the nation, uplifting communities one girl, one woman at a time.
Vision
We believe that giving girls and women access to education, health care, and economic opportunities is essential to creating a more equitable and just society.
By investing in girls and women, we can help break the cycle of poverty that often holds them back from reaching their full potential. Furthermore, our proposal includes mentorship programmes, workshops, and initiatives to build self-confidence and leadership skills.
We aim to achieve this through mentorships where girls and women can thrive and contribute to society in meaningful ways.
Our Latest Fund Raising Campaign
Menstrual health is a fundamental right, yet thousands of girls in South Africa face period poverty, forcing them to miss school due to a lack of sanitary products. This critical issue leads to learning disruptions, decreased confidence, and long-term social and economic disadvantages.
To address this, The Girl in the Mirror NPO is launching the Dignity for 300 Girls Sanitary Pad Drive, a targeted initiative to provide six months of sanitary pads, care packages and menstrual hygiene education to support 300 girls from underserved communities. This initiative will not only keep girls in school but will also foster greater gender equality, confidence, and empowerment.
